yep i refuse to have one in the car unless we are going on a long car ride. we can get to nearly everywhere we ever go within two hours so we burrow one from someone if it is a long drive.

I need to anonymously send this to certain family members who keep asking if Luke is watching movies yet because, “they are a life saver in the car”.

Preach, sister!!! My husband and I feel the same way. We only use our portable DVD player for long trips, and it usually still doesn’t come out bc she enjoys the conversation!!!

I have the same thought when I see people driving around a shopping center with cartoons playing in the backseat. Really? I’m not a parent so I try not to judge too harshly but it just seems lazy.

My parents solved this by never driving anywhere that was more than 2 hours away. Over two hours? We either flew, or we didn’t go. This explains how I grew up in Maine but never saw Canada until age 25. It’s 4 hours from our house.

I have great memories of long family car trips. My brother and I used to play so many games and it was a blast! Also, as a driver I find those dvd players really distracting. I always try to see what the people in front of me are watching…

i’m so happy a parent agrees. the best memories i have are from family road trips. sibling rivalry in tight quarters teaches you many life lessons..
