    Last night over dinner at one of our favorite spots, we decided to change the direction of our focus in this upcoming year. This time last year we would have thought we’d be pregnant by now. Our focus for all of 2011 was “what’s next?”. This year will be all about what’s right in front of us. 2012 will be about how happy we are right NOW. Today. Forget about what’s next for “our family” that doesn’t yet exist…what’s happening right NOW for the two of us? We’re going to take those trips we’ve always talked about.  We’re going to lay in bed all day if we want. We’re going to surprise each other with weekend get away’s and evenings out. See those girls ridiculously happy in the picture? That was us a few months after I came out…a few weeks after I left my husband, a few days after Natalie moved in with me. We’re still those girls. Six years later we’re STILL those girls…and this year we’re going to slow down and enjoy being “us” a little more than we did last year. 2011 was the year of “what’s next?” and “when will we get pregnant?” It was a year of planning, and stressing, and feeling frustrated with every outcome.  2012 is The Year Of Us.
